Commerce Module
B2B storefront — chain-branded buyer portals with live ERP pricing, inventory, ordering, approvals, and invoices, plus the operator-side Commerce admin.
Commerce (B2B Storefront)
The Commerce module is a multi-tenant B2B storefront built on the Factory Labs data plane: catalog from PIM, live pricing/inventory/orders from the ERP gateway, and storefront state (carts, roles, approvals, favorites) in the tenant's own schema. Each customer account can run its own branded storefront on factorylabs.ai/store/{org} or on a custom domain.
What's included
| Area | Description |
|---|---|
| Branded storefronts | Per-account theming (logo, colors, imagery) with custom-domain support; one tenant can serve many branded buyer portals |
| Catalog & search | PIM-backed products scoped per account by assortment; keyword and category browse; search by SKU, manufacturer part number, or OEM cross-reference |
| Product detail | OEM "replaces" cross-references, equipment model-fitment data, brand assets, and documents |
| Pricing | Per-account contract pricing with live ERP fallback, so quoted prices match the ERP at browse and checkout |
| Inventory | Live per-warehouse availability from the ERP on product, cart, and checkout surfaces |
| Cart & checkout | Stock and quantity validation, address validation, live tax quotation, card tokenization or purchase-order payment |
| Approvals | Buyer roles with fine-grained permissions and per-account order-approval rules and approver groups |
| Orders | Live submission to the ERP with the ERP order number returned in confirmation; order history with multi-shipment and backorder tracking |
| Invoices | Buyer-facing invoice access served live from the ERP |
| Reordering | Frequently-purchased items per account for fast repeat ordering |
Buyer identity
Storefront buyers are a separate authentication domain from your workforce users:
- Buyers sign in with email one-time passcodes, passwords, or SSO; sessions are carried by a dedicated storefront cookie, not the workforce session.
- Each buyer resolves to a customer scope: the accounts and ship-tos they may transact for. All catalog, pricing, order, and invoice reads are constrained by that scope.
- Roles (admin, purchaser, viewer, and custom permission sets) control who can submit orders, approve orders, manage users, and see pricing.
Operator side (Commerce admin)
Admins manage the storefront from the Commerce section of the main app (admin role required, shown when the module is enabled):
| Surface | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Buyers | Buyer registry per account: users, roles, access grants, ship-to assignments |
| Catalogs | Account assortments — which products each account's storefront can see |
| Price Schedules | Per-account contract pricing |
| Promotions | Promotion engine (discounts, eligibility, stacking rules) |
| Extended Fields | Custom field (xp) registry for storefront entities |
| Storefronts | Per-account workspace: branding, catalog, and pricing tabs |
| Settings | Tenant-wide storefront configuration, including image uploads and domains |
Integrations used at checkout
Address validation (UPS), tax quotation (Vertex O Series, Avalara AvaTax, or ZipTax), and card tokenization (CenPOS/Elavon or Stripe) are configured per tenant. See the Integrations guide.
Migration & coexistence
For tenants migrating from an incumbent commerce stack (e.g. Sitecore OrderCloud), the platform supports side-by-side coexistence: continuous catalog sync from the incumbent during the transition, and just-in-time credential migration so buyers keep their existing passwords on first sign-in.
Enablement
Commerce ships off by default and is enabled per tenant by your Factory Labs contact or a super admin. Once enabled, the Commerce section appears in the sidebar for admin users and the storefront becomes routable for configured accounts.
